UNTSO is generally responsible for issuing a UN internal document called a “Shipment Request (SR)” for each shipment, which includes, but is not limited to, the name of the owner, origin, destination, shipping entitlement and mode of transportation. Upon receipt of the SR, UNTSO will register the shipment through the Contractor’s web-based shipping registration system. UNTSO is responsible for organizing and monitoring the shipment of household goods and personal effects for Owners (shippers) to/from UNTSO. Air, Sea and Land consignments are sent on a door to door and door to port basis, depending on points of origin and destination. The Contractor is expected to arrange for prompt collection of shipments in close coordination with the Owner and UNTSO. All correspondence should refer to the name of the Owner, the corresponding shipment request number and a registration number generated by the Contractor’s shipping registration system.
