Introductory information The Technical Assistance Program (TAP), funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is a five-year education and youth project that seeks to transform organizational culture and improve capacity in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth to ensure that officials can implement the desired reforms. Creative and its partners will provide technical assistance in developing, implementing and tracking policies and procedures to integrate international best practices for public education and youth programming. Among the many activities in USAID's Technical Assistance Program, the program will support curriculum development, promote inclusive learning technologies, improve the skills of teachers and school administrators, and other concrete activities that ultimately support organizational culture change within the two ministries and relevant agencies. The program will support behaviour change awareness and communication initiatives in Jordan aimed at creating a culture of reading, integrating vulnerable children and increasing youth participation. 2. Business Scope The expert will work closely with the Technical Support Program team for the education and youth sectors, the National Center for Curriculum Development and the relevant departments in the Ministry of Education (curricula, textbooks, and exams) to design and develop supporting materials for students with low performance in reading and writing skills in Arabic for grades (4-9) in line with the national plan for the remedial program, and the developed framework for Arabic language curricula to carry out the tasks specified below. Main tasks and responsibilities Supporting the authoring team in charge of preparing materials supporting the Arabic language for grades 4-9 through the following: Designing a work methodology to address the learning gaps of students with low performance in reading and writing skills in Arabic for grades (4-9) Determine the standards necessary to build supporting materials in reading and writing skills. Determine the criteria necessary to build the evaluation paragraphs spoken reference. Supporting and developing supporting materials for underperforming students in my skills (reading and writing) to be applied at the beginning of the academic year 2023-2024. Review the supporting materials and evaluation paragraphs to ensure that they conform to the required standards and methodology. Directing workshops for the development and construction of supporting materials and building evaluation paragraphs spoken reference. Guiding the team on how to write guidelines for applying and reviewing supporting materials. Participate in the development of strategies for the application of supporting materials. Study the data collected on the actual implementation during the first semester 2023-2024 to provide proposals and policies that help plan for the next stages in the Arabic language. Skills and Qualifications: PhD in Arabic Language Curriculum and Teaching Methods. In-depth knowledge of the Jordanian curriculum and the new developed general framework. In-depth experience in preparing therapeutic materials for the Arabic language subject. Teaching experience for a minimum of 5 years. Experience in curriculum preparation and preparation of educational materials. Other expertise in regional and international research or similar projects and works. Experience in international and national programs. Experience in preparing general frameworks for curricula, standards and performance indicators.
