The IT consultant will be the first point of contact for any ICT-related issues, problems, or questions, and will be responsible for triaging all such problems. The IT consultant will resolve problems that can be solved independently or locally, and will escalate any issues that require assistance from the RLS IT department. The IT consultant will escalate external problems, such as internet connection issues, to the appropriate providers/vendors for support. The ideal candidate will be proactive in communicating and collaborating with the RLS IT department through proper channels and tools. The IT consultant will provide basic training for local staff after receiving training from the RLS IT department. The IT consultant needs to offer his services during the core working hours between 10 am and 4 pm. Working Schedule: an average of 12 working hours per month. Typical Tasks: Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user devices and locally managed ICT assets such as printers, scanners, phones, and smartphones. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot end user applications including default RLS software such as Outlook and Office programs. Identify and troubleshoot network and connectivity issues related to internet connection, on-premises Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and cabling. Proactively monitor locally managed ICT assets and identify potential problems, and procure and replace consumables, cabling, and internet/phone connectivity. Handle communication with local providers and vendors related to IT issues such as internet service providers and assist with IT procurements and maintenance for RLS office, such as notebooks and repairs/RMAs. Assist RLS IT department, when integrating newly procured hardware such as computers, network devices into RLS domain. Maintain, check, and update documentation on changes such as network/wiring diagrams. Assist local employees in on-boarding process including set up workplace and end-user IT systems; introduce RLS IT services. Train and advise local staff following our "train the trainer" approach and after receiving training from the RLS IT department. Perform routine maintenance tasks and prepare a monthly report of current issues. 3. Required Skills 3.1. Technical skills 3.1.1. In-depth skills in Configure and troubleshoot Windows 10 on RLS supported hardware (notebooks, PCs) Configure and troubleshoot MS Office 2016 (esp. Outlook, Word, Excel, localization options) Configure and troubleshoot typical office software (see Baramundi Kiosk; as required by your office) Install, configure and troubleshoot locally required software (e.g. accounting / banking / legal software; as required by your office) Install, configure and troubleshoot local ICT hardware assets (printers, scanners, phones, VoIP; as required by your office) 3.1.2. Basic skills in Network fundamentals: TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VLANs, VPN, Active Directory (understand users & group management, mapping / accessing shares, permissions) IT security topics (common threats and counter-measures) End user IT security issues (such as phishing, viruses, malware, ransom-ware, etc.) Commissioning active network components (switches, routers, access points, structured cabling) Experience working with server hardware (including accessories such as UPS) 3.2. Non-technical skills Proficiency in English (written and spoken) for communication with the RLS IT department. German is an asset. Available and responds within the times defined in the SLA (both to local users and RLS IT department) Acts proactively when identifying problems Independent and service-oriented way of working Understands the bigger picture but pays attention to details 4. Required Experience 3+ years prior experience working in a similar environment For the in-depth skills: 3+ years prior experience For the basic skills: 1-3 years prior experience Optional: relevant certificates such as MCSE, CCNA, CompTia Server 5.
