About ARYAF PROJECT ARYAF serves Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises operating in food processing, local hospitality, tourism, the restaurant industry, eco-tourism, and agri-tourism within west Bekaa, Zahle and South Mount Lebanon. The program aims to empower sixty MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) to increase their sales volume, implement a business continuity plan, and provide training to their staff, including youth, women, and disabled individuals. The program is funded by The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in partnership with Berytech, within the framework of Strengthening Agriculture, Local Communities and Small and Medium Enterprises project (ACE). Scope of Work Distribution and Sales Consultant, As a Distribution and Sales Consultant, your role is to provide expert guidance and strategic support to a hub operating as a distributor for small and medium-scale producers to get quick access to larger markets. The role of the consultant is to optimize the business distribution and merchandise management processes. The consultant will collaborate with various stakeholders, including retailers, wholesalers, and producers, to develop effective strategies that enhance each product distribution, increase sales, and improve overall profitability. The main responsibilities will encompass analyzing market trends, assessing distribution channels, optimizing inventory management, and implementing effective merchandise planning strategies. Deliverables The consultant is expected to fulfill the below key responsibilities: Distribution Channel Optimization: Assess existing distribution channels and identify areas for improvement. Evaluate product demand, pricing, and market positioning to recommend appropriate distribution channels. Collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective distribution strategies, including direct sales, partnerships, and online channels. Evaluate and negotiate contracts with distribution partners to ensure optimal terms and conditions. Inventory Management Analyze inventory levels, turnover rates, and stockouts to optimize inventory management practices. Develop inventory forecasting models to minimize excess inventory and maximize product availability. Implement inventory control measures to reduce carrying costs and improve cash flow. Merchandise Planning: Collaborate with clients to develop merchandise assortment strategies based on customer preferences and market trends. Optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies to drive sales and maximize profitability. Provide recommendations on visual merchandising techniques and store layout optimization. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to distribution and merchandise management. Provide training and guidance to clients’ teams to enhance their distribution and merchandise management capabilities. Identify areas of improvement and make recommendations for adjustments to achieve goals. New product launches: Assist in the development and execution of product launch plans. Provide input on packaging design, pricing, and promotional strategies. Conduct market research to assess potential demand and competition for new products. Final reporting: Generate a final report including all the findings, observations, and recommendations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, supply chain management, or related field. A master’s degree is a plus. Proven experience in distribution, logistics, or merchandise management, preferably in a consultancy role. Familiarity with inventory management systems and merchandise planning software. Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights. Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software. Knowledge of retail industry trends and best practices. Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking. Timeline and Application The selected Consultant is expected to start his/her activities at the soonest after selection (the effective date is to be confirmed), and the contract duration is over a period of 4 months. Candidates should submit the following documents: Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in the section: “Scope of Work, Outputs, and Deliverables” elaborating it further. Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs shall be included as an annex) along with project references on the topic. Financial Proposal describing the expected renumeration and the proposed period of the intervention.
