Sep 2023 Intervention Sector(s): Communications & Media, Democracy & Civic rights Remuneration range: < 1000 (USD) Duration of Contract: Short-term internship (3 months) Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Country Representative, and in close coordination with the other team members, the Communications Intern will: Conduct research on democracy-related news, events, and developments in Lebanon; Assist in drafting and editing articles for the monthly newsletter in Arabic and English, in accordance with DRI’s editorial guidelines; Collaborate with DRI’s Communications and Programme teams to gather relevant content, including success stories, case studies, testimonies, and interviews; Source images, graphics, and multimedia elements to complement newsletter articles; Support the proofreading and fact-checking process to ensure accurate and high-quality content; Contribute creative ideas for engaging and informative newsletter content; Stay updated on current trends and developments in the fields of journalism, democracy, and governance; Develop various written communications outputs in Arabic and English, as needed; Other relevant duties that may be required. Qualifications Enrolled in a journalism, communications, or related media program at a recognised university/college; Outstanding writing and communication skills in English and Arabic; Interest in democracy, governance, and political participation; Proficiency in conducting online research and fact-checking; Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; Outstanding attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
