Expression of Interest are invited for Consultant on Green Transition in the Tourism, Food Retail and Property in the Europe Region The WBG reserves the right to publicly disclose contract award information, including but not limited to, name of company receiving the award, brief description of services, and contract award amount, for any contract award valued over US$250,000. Offeror's proposal and contractual documents will remain confidential and therefore not subject to disclosure. The International Finance Corporation (“IFC”) is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in developing countries. IFC invests in companies through loans, equity, debt securities and guarantees; mobilizes capital from other lenders and investors through loan participations, parallel loans, and other means; and advises businesses to encourage private investment and improve the investment climate. IFC’s Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services (“MAS”) Department covers key sectors that cater to basic human needs, such as food, shelter, jobs, and health and education. They play a critical role in providing goods and services to consumers, creating jobs, contributing to government revenues, and stimulating economic growth through SMEs. Combatting climate change is a priority focus area for the IFC. A comprehensive, multi-pronged drive has been underway to invest in profitable private businesses that contribute to the green transition. As part of this effort, the IFC Upstream MAS team in Europe would like to obtain a thorough understanding of: a. Decarbonization trends (science-based pathways for the target sectors, global trends, national policies and trend for each target country), key decarbonization technologies / solutions / initiatives, bottlenecks and, enablers in the Tourism, Food Retail and Property (TRP) sectors (the “Target Sectors”) b. Commercially viable vs. pilot- or prototype-stage vs. research-stage technology/solutions with thorough research and details on key players in each of these three-stage technology/solutions providers, identified for each target country (mentioned in point c below), as well as the c. Key market players, in the Tourism, Food Retail and Property (TRP) sectors (the “Target Sectors”), in Croatia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, the six Western Balkan countries (Serbia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Montenegro), Moldova, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia (the “Target Countries”).
