The Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF) is seeking to aid the farmers with their livelihood particularly with the ease of access for needed resources and transportation of good with the aim of reducing post-harvest losses, maintaining existing markets. Top Quarter to Corn Hill Road Rehabilitation, Clarendon The project will involve the rehabilitation of 1.6 km of roadway to include sub-base, base course and wearing surface along with the construction of required drainage systems to preserve the roadway from premature deterioration. The design should include retaining infrastructure to prevent land slippage and blockage of drainage features along the roadway. A subterranean river runs below the road surface at a point and as such a box culvert designed to contain the volume of water during heavy rainfall should be considered. Considerations should be given to the entrances to the properties along the road and the construction of retaining walls to maintain structural integrity where necessary.
