North America
In the USA, federal contract opportunities are published on SAM.gov, while states, counties, cities, school districts and transit agencies run their own bids on separate portals. Government of Canada notices appear on CanadaBuys, and provinces, municipalities and Crown corporations use their own systems. In both countries, following federal sources alone would miss many local opportunities.
Latin America and the Caribbean
Mexico publishes federal tenders on ComprasMX, Brazil on the Portal Nacional de Contratações Públicas (PNCP), Colombia on SECOP, Chile on Mercado Público, Peru on SEACE and Jamaica on GOJEP. States, provinces and municipalities in many of these countries tender separately, and state-owned companies such as Petrobras run their own supplier processes.
Development bank projects
Projects financed by the Inter-American Development Bank are tendered by the borrowing country's executing agency. Specific notices may run in UN Development Business, with a copy on the IDB website, or on the government's own procurement site, and bidding documents come from the executing agency. The Caribbean Development Bank publishes general and specific procurement notices for its projects on its own website and in UN Development Business.
Languages and support
Notices are in Spanish, Portuguese, English and French, the last mainly in Quebec and Haiti. Tender Impulse subscribers can request translation of tender details at no extra cost, ask for the pliegos or the edital, and use contract award data to see who supplies each buyer.
