The Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has received a credit financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACRESAL), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. The Kaduna State Project Management Unit of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape intends to use part of the proceeds of the credit for the recruitment of a competent Focal Non-Governmental Organization to support SPMU activities in Communities. The consulting services for Focal Non-Governmental Organization (“the Services”) include supporting communities and SPMU, and local government throughout the sub-project cycle. The focal NGO (or consortium) will be the technical partner responsible for community outreach and infrastructure delivery. The contracted FNGO will engage with communities in beneficiary selection, participatory MWP sub-project identification and implementation, gender actions implementation and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention. FNGO will also support the project communications strategy and links between communities, LGAs, MDA and other relevant state actors. FNGOs will work with communities to establish and train local development committees. These committees are to be comprised of community representatives and local authority delegates who convene to prepare proposals for sub-projects and to undertake defined roles in implementing and monitoring project activities,.
