Latest African Tenders
19,135 live tenders, updated daily.
Africa tenders on Tender Impulse are issued by national ministries, provincial and county governments, municipalities, state-owned utilities and transport agencies, hospitals and universities, together with development banks, UN agencies and donor-funded programmes. They cover the whole continent, from North Africa to the Indian Ocean islands.
Right now Tender Impulse lists 19,135 open tenders from Africa, published by buyers in 52 countries. In the past twelve months Tender Impulse recorded more than 350,000 notices from countries in Africa.
The countries with the most open tenders are Ethiopia (6,092), South Africa (4,118), Tunisia (1,674), Morocco (1,189), Kenya (804) and Zimbabwe (797).
By sector, most open tenders in Africa fall under Infrastructure and construction, Management Consultancy, Transportation & Mobility, Healthcare & Medical, IT-Software and Education & Training.
National portals and regulators
Many African countries publish through national electronic systems. South Africa uses the National Treasury's eTender Publication Portal, Kenya the Public Procurement Information Portal, Tanzania NeST, Rwanda Umucyo and Tunisia TUNEPS. In Nigeria, the Bureau of Public Procurement regulates federal buying while each state follows its own laws, and in Morocco state companies tender alongside the national procurement portal. Registration is often required: South African government buyers expect suppliers to be on the Central Supplier Database.
Development bank and donor-funded projects
For projects financed by the African Development Bank, the borrower prepares a General Procurement Notice that is published in UN Development Business, and invitations to bid follow as Specific Procurement Notices, advertised in at least one national newspaper. World Bank projects work in a similar way. UN agencies use the UN Global Marketplace (UNGM) as their common procurement portal, and development agencies such as Enabel buy in Djibouti, Tanzania and elsewhere.
Languages
African tenders appear mainly in English, French, Arabic and Portuguese. Tunisian and Moroccan notices are mostly in French with some Arabic, Cameroon publishes in French and English, and Portuguese is the official language of Angola and Mozambique. Tender Impulse subscribers can request translation of tender details at no extra cost and ask for the full bid documents.
Tracking opportunities across the continent
Daily alerts built from keywords and CPV codes can be limited to the countries a supplier serves, and contract award data shows which firms have won similar contracts. A free live demo shows African notices before subscribing.
