This tender is from the country of South Africa in African region. The tender was published by MOBILIZING INVESTMENT FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT on 24 Apr 2023 for Request for proposals are invited for Provision of IT Support Services for DAI USAID Southern Africa Mobilizing Investment office in Johannesburg, South Africa The USAID Southern Africa Mobilizing Investment Activity is a five-year initiative aimed to promote inclusive economic growth and self-reliance in the region. The Mobilizing Investment Activity will address the spectrum of funding gaps in Southern Africa’s investment ecosystem. It will work through and with local market systems actors to identify investment opportunities and use catalytic financing, technical assistance, and de-risking to align incentives and mobilize capital for underserved sectors (agriculture, healthcare, climate, education, etc.) while strengthening the skills, relationships, information sources and flows necessary to change market behavior and dynamics across the investment ecosystem. It will work with investment ecosystem actors, especially traditionally disadvantaged fund managers (women fund manager, BBBEE investors) to improve investment readiness, identify, and build deal pipelines of more bankable businesses, and stimulate long-term change in market dynamics to improve deal flow and investment into high-growth sectors. It will also facilitate new partnerships that blend agricultural know-how with impact capital from multiple sources. Finally, the project will build new connections between U.S. and Southern African capital providers by highlighting positive stories and expanding professional connections that will seed the market and deepen private investment. A market systems project, the Mobilizing Investment Activity builds upon USAID Southern Africa efforts and accomplishments to mobilize investment for a variety of sectors through initiatives such as the South Africa Small and Medium Enterprise (SA SME) Fund, the USAID Africa Trade and Investment (ATI) Southern Africa Program, INVEST and the USAID Investment Support Program, among others. Co-creation, collaboration, learning and adaptation, and communicating that knowledge externally will be fundamental to the operations of the project. A key entry point for these partnerships will be open calls to the market for innovative ideas under the project’s Partnership Fund. This fund will employ contracting mechanisms that include grants under contract (GUCs) and subcontracts, which de-risk and/or co-invest with the private sector to allow them to test new financial/investment products, financing methods, and business models that target underserved sectors, market segments, and/or geographies..
