The bridge structural components consist of stone abutment walls, steel main beams and concrete deck fitted with steel safety rails. A pedestrian steel bridge is attached to the eastern side of the bridge to provide pedestrian access across the railway line. Based on the Council’s previous bridge audit reports and recent inspection reports it is evident that some of the bridge structural components have deteriorated over the years which require rehabilitation works to be carried out in order to extend their serviceable life expectancies.
