The wetlands are approximately 3 km from the township of Raukkan, a First Nations community. Work will involve the construction of flow control structures to the northern and southern inlets of the Teringie Wetlands and enhance connectivity between the eastern basins by reinstating water flow path. The project will provide benefits which include: Improved connectivity between Lake Alexandrina and the wetland; Improved capacity to regulate water levels Reduced invasion from pest species including carp Improved cultural values of the significant site and demonstrated partnership approach to working with Aboriginal communities. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for 11 October 2023 at 11am.
