AWS is registered as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCO45894). The AWS Standard drives social, environmental and economic benefits at the site and local area. It asks water-using sites to address water challenges to move towards: good water governance, sustainable water balance, good water quality, protecting important water related areas, and access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for all. The AWS Standard V2.0 indicators: STEPS - 1. Gather and Understand: Criteria (8), Core Indicators (29), Advanced Indicators (5) 2. Commit and Plan: Criteria(4), Core Indicators(5), Advanced Indicators(5) 3. Implement: Criteria(9), Core Indicators(20), Advanced Indicators(16) 4. Evaluate: Criteria(4), Core Indicators(6), Advanced Indicators(2) 5. Communicate and Disclose: Criteria(5), Core Indicators(8), Advanced Indicators(20) Background AWS has identified Dhaka as one of the interest areas to work on water stewardship among AWS Members through global working groups. As Dhaka is one of the key sourcing hubs for the Textiles & Apparel sector, AWS recognises that there is potentially significant demand for water stewardship support in Bangladesh.
