The Purpose of this Diagnostic is:1.to Comprehend the Existing Business; Operational and Financing Models Currently in Practice by Different Segments of Builder/Developers in the Urban Areas; And the Challenges and Limitations They Encounter to Supply Affordable Housing and Green Housing in the Country.2.Assess the Legal; Regulatory and Taxation Environment Which Governs the Supply of Affordable Housing Units and Green Housing Units in the Country and Identify Gaps that Needs to be Addressed through Policy Reforms by the Government to Support the Development of the Sector.3.Identify Market Size and Financing Gap and Capacity Building Needs of the Builders/Developers; Where Ifc can Support through Investment and Advisory Services. The Findings from this Assessment would Enable Ifc to Present Recommendations to the Bangladesh Affordable Housing and Green Housing Working Committee to Implement Policy and Market Reforms; And Enable Ifc to Identify Potential Investment and Advisory Opportunities in the Builder/Developers Market..
