Tender Description
Perovskite-based solar cell for space application Perovskite solar cells PSCs are promising candidates for space applications however the space environment involves harsh conditions such as radiation exposure and temperature cycling Thermal cycling experiments on PSCs have revealed changes in the phase transitions of the perovskite absorber layer It is also well established that proton irradiation introduces defects in PSCs which can either enhance or degrade device performance depending on the material system To evaluate PSC operation under combined radiation and thermal stress systematic testing is required under controlled temperature variations and irradiation exposure In this study PSCs will first undergo thermal cycling and subsequently be subjected to proton irradiation in order to analyze the effects of both conditions in combination Advanced experiments are therefore essential to understand the fundamental performance and stability of PSCs in such extreme environments In this project we propose in-situ J V measurements under AM0 solar spectrum conditions during proton irradiation 68 MeV using the cyclotron facility at HZB Complementary material characterization and device physics measurements will be conducted to gain insights into defect formation phase stability and performance evolution The host group led by Dr Felix Lang at the University of Potsdam is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in PSC development and possesses unique expertise in device engineering The project will generate industrially relevant strategies for improving PSC robustness which are critical for their deployment in space applications
