Supply, commissioning, and maintenance of isolators for the cleanroom of Jessa Hospital

The vzw Jessa Ziekenhuis in Belgium from Europe region has released this tender for Public contract for the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance for 8 years following a 2-year warranty period of isolators for the cleanroom of the hospital pharmacy of Jessa Hospital. The isolators may be used for • the handling, preparation, and distribution of potentially toxic medicinal products (cytostatics, monoclonal antibodies, and “live” medicinal products (BCG bladder irrigation, autologous serum eye drops, GMOs, and/or ATMPs). For these isolators, the priority lies primarily with operator and environmental protection and secondarily with product protection and/or • the handling, preparation, and distribution of non-toxic sterile medicinal products. For these, the priority lies primarily with product protection and secondarily with operator and environmental protection. These isolators will operate in a Class D cleanroom. The internal environment of all isolators and the vented material airlocks (MAL) must be capable of disinfection by means of a built-in/integrated, automatic, and validated system using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). We expect the awarded supplier to provide documentation and support the hospital in the qualification process of the isolators (IQ, OQ, and PQ). In addition to the purchase and installation of these isolators, the contracting authority will also to enter into a maintenance contract for 8 years (after a warranty period of 2 years). The offered maintenance contract may subsequently be extended for the entire lifespan of the equipment. As a reference hospital, Jessa Hospital offers a wide range of innovative and high-quality medicine and patient care, in collaboration with the partner hospitals in the Andreaz hospital network. Jessa Hospital aims to provide compassionate care to the patient and their family and to actively involve them; both in the individual care pathway and in the hospitals policy. In order to continue guaranteeing the best possible care in the future, the decision was made to build a new cleanroom, construction of which has meanwhile commenced. In accordance with the current project schedule (dated 01/10/2026) and the agreements with the contractor for the construction of the cleanroom, the isolators in the production pharmacy must be delivered no later than 03/01/2028. The current assignment therefore conflicts with the assignment of the general contractor for the construction of the cleanroom and may under no circumstances delay or impede it. Furthermore, the contracting authority itself must make use as soon as possible to be able to make use of this new cleanroom in order to further optimize its operation and bring it into compliance with the new regulatory framework.
