The ENVIRONMENT AND PROTECTED AREAS in Canada from Americas region had released this tender for Request for Proposal Wood bison aerial surveillance and monitoring - fixed wing services EPA requires the use of fixed-wing aircraft services to undertake flights to search specified surveillance zone for evidence of bison presence observations of animals and their tracks and relocation of radio-collared bison Given the forested landscape and cryptic nature of wood bison this work may be accomplished by a qualified solo pilot or with a dedicated observer on-board Flight crews will record the location observation type tracks or animals and relative age old new of all bison observations including number of all bison observed Group sizes and general composition adults and calves will also be recorded when safe and practical to do so Observed signs of bison presence or suspected presence would be investigated further EPA also requires fixed-wing aircraft support to locate and track radio-collared bison using VHF collar transmissions This work will require the successful company to supply telemetry equipment and mounts for the exterior of the aircraft an appropriate receiver integrated into the aircraft s internal avionics system and the necessary skills to operate and track animals Demonstrated past- experience leading or conducting this work in remote and northern environment is desired with tender notice no.
