The use of low-cost; inclusive and innovative approach; open-source software and tools adapted to the local context will be favored in all collection activities.The second objective of this proposal is to build technical knowledge and capacity to mainstream NBS into existing and future investments in Abidjan with a focus on utilizing the Drainage Masterplan; including investment prioritization and pre-feasibility studies; and to contribute to capacity building on NBS in the city of Abidjan and to the objectives of the Urban Resilience and Solid Waste Management Project (PARU); ongoing project financed by the World Bank. The expected outcomes achieved by these studies include reduction of flood risk; urban heat; and the improvement of livability in low-income vulnerable neighborhoods as well as other climate co-benefits. Other outcomes include biodiversity benefits and income generation with labor-intensive public works involving NBS during implementation and maintenance activities.
