The subject of the performance is ensuring the installation of restored original wallpapers from room No 2 86 of the main building of the Veltrusy castle in a situation where the wallpaper restoration contractor Dorothea Hodkov permanently terminated her activity in the field of textile restoration withdrew from the contract and recommended turning to her younger colleagues who participated with her in the restoration - Mrs Vladim ra Lipsk and Radka Kalabisov nThe implementation of the works will partially remove the damage caused by the flood that hit SZ Veltrusy in 2002 nUntil the flood in 2002 a unique set of original silk wallpapers was preserved in the interiors of the main building of the Veltrusy castle Due to the state of emergency after the flood the wallpapers were removed and subjected to restoration work Since then individual strips of wallpaper have been stored in a special air-conditioned room of the central depository of the NP PS in Prague Only in the case of wallpapers from room No 2 86 was the installation of the preserved originals in the other rooms the originals will be replaced by copies nThe motivation for the installation of the original wallpapers is among other things the fact that achieving an artistically and technologically credible copy appears to be extremely problematic given the current experience with the contract for the acquisition of copies of silk fabrics intended to replace the originals from cabinet 2 74 and room no 2 75 Considering the financial and time possibilities of the client planned opening of the interior installation it is almost unrealistic in the current epidemiological situation in the world nThe installation of the original wallpaper is necessary for the successful completion of the renovation of the interiors of the main castle building and the creation of an interior installation which will reopen the building to the visiting public in 2021 almost twenty years after the devastating floods 45432220-2 Wall wallpapering Central Bohemian Region 45432220-2 Wall wallpapering Wall wallpapering
