The ETHIOPIAN INDUSTRIAL PARKS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (IPDC) in Ethiopia from African region had released this tender for Tenders are invited for Consultancy Service of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Study for Aysha, Bishoftu, and Asossa Industrial Parks The FDRE, Industrial Parks Development Corporation has allocated funds and intends to apply part of the proceeds of these funds towards the cost of selection and employment of consulting firms for the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Study for Aysha, Bishoftu, and Asossa Industrial Parks. Objectives of the assignment include: Identify and assess key environmental and social impacts (positive and adverse) that may result from the activities of the Aysha, Bishoftu, and Asossa Industrial Parks projects. Recommend appropriate mitigation measures to remove or minimize the adverse impacts identified. This assessment provides critical inputs for consideration during the development and operation of the Industrial Parks. This process will be conducted in a fully participatory manner and shall Involve consultation with relevant stakeholders in Aysha, Bishoftu, and Asossa Industrial Parks planning processes. The scope of the Service The Consultant is required to assemble and evaluate baseline data on the environmental and social characteristics of the Industrial Parks site and surrounding areas. In addition to the baseline data this study is expected to consist of a review of past/existing literature, maps, aerial photos, studies and an exploration of the area to be developed. This information should be gathered keeping in mind the Industrial Parks development needs such as communication, water and energy supply, waste water and solid waste management, urbanization, and transportation. The key areas to be reviewed including, but not limited to: Physical environment Biological environment Socio-cultural environment Social economic condition Any environmental and social liabilities with the operation of Ayshe, Bishoftu and Asossa industrial Parks such as any fatal flaws related to development or resettlements.
