The TECHNO SERVE in Ethiopia from African region had released this tender for Expression of Interest are invited for Promote Production Management Consultancy Service within Large and Medium Manufacturing Enterprises: - Short-Term In the consortium, TNS is working with Medium and Large Manufacturing Enterprises/MLEs to improve the manufacturing sector market system. TNS strives to overcome fundamental constraints that limit the productivity and expansion of this highpotential sector. So far, TNS has different interventions to improve Human Resource management practice, access to input, improve the production management system and improve sales and marketing activities of MLEs in Addis Ababa. To improve the MLE production capacity through a scientific production management technique, since 2019, TNS piloted two interventions using Kaizen principles. The interventions are facilitated in collaboration with Ethiopia Kaizen Institute and private Kaizen consultants. Learning from the existing interventions shows that, to create a competitive market system that can sustainably support the development of MLES, establishing a strong pool of private consultants with a comprehensive and need based consultancy package is found relevant than promoting Kaizen based tools solely. Based on this, TNS has modified the existing production management business model and planning to pilot in selected MLES. The objective of the call for consultants: General objective: to establish a qualified pool of private production management consultants leading to a specialized production management consultancy firm to increase the competitiveness of MLEs so as to create job and income increment opportunities. Specific objectives: To develop a need-based production management consultancy service package To promote scientific solutions to address constraints limiting MLE's performance. To address the production management gaps of MLES and increase their profit. To create a specialized consultancy firm influencing the market To create job opportunities for 135 women and youth in Addis Abba Nature of Services and Areas of Expertise:_ In accordance with the above-mentioned objectives, the consultants are expected to jointly assess the production management constraints affecting the competitiveness of MLES, based on the finding to develop a consultancy service package. Using the developed tool, promotional activities and piloting of the service package will be facilitated by the selected consultants and government partners. TechnoServe will co-facilitate the overall assessment, tool development, promotion, and piloting by sharing costs with the consultants. Applicants are expected to have consultancy experience in production management, industry development, and integrated business development service provision within the manufacturing sector. Role and responsibilities TechnoServe inc. Will facilitate the rapid sectoral need assessment and comprehensive tool development on a cost-sharing base with the selected five consultants. Will facilitate the development of a business case to incentivize MLEs Will share the cost of consultants to pilot the design tool in selected 15 MLEs for four months Will facilitate a consultative meeting The private consultants Will conduct a rapid sectoral assessment and develop a comprehensive production management consultancy service package by sharing costs with TechnoServe.
