In all cases, integrated biological specimens are picked up from the RHFs and transported to twenty-seven (27) RTCs following the nationally established and endorsed referral testing networks and results returned via identical routes. Of the 5,524RHFs, 27% (1,500) receive one scheduled specimen courier visit per week and the remaining 73% (4,024) are served on an On- call basis whereby each one of them is expected to make a minimum of four calls (four visits) per year. In this regard, the majority of calls for specimen pickup and transportation services including return of results are expected to come from three thousand six hundred twenty-four (3,624). Health Facilities (HFs) which would send sputum specimens for TB Culture Identification & Drug Susceptibility Testing at ten of the 27 RTCs as well as for the detection of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis and Rifampicin Resistance (MTB/RIF) using GeneXpert machines installed at 400 HFs nationwide. It is important to note that a single visit to a HF constitutes a pickup of safely packaged integrated biological specimens and delivery of test results from the specific RTC at the same time. As related to the EQA program, a Courier Service Provider (CSP) is expected to distribute PT panels to a minimum of 400 laboratories nationwide three times per year each including the return of packaging containers to the Central Warehouse. with tender notice no.
