Project Title: Supporting Criminal Justice Reform in the Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia Duty Station: Addis Ababa Expected Start Date: Immediately after the signing of the Contract Duration: 40 working days SCOPE OF THE WORK OR ACTIVITY A rapid assessment of the specific training needs in terms of knowledge and skills of the potential trainees, within the scope of transboundary and grave crimes; Develop a comprehensive training module on the handling of cases of transboundary and grave crimes such as human trafficking, money laundering, cybercrime, genocide, crime against humanity, war crime; Provide training for Federal judges on the handling of cases of transboundary and grave crimes using different interactive and creative adult training methods, Collaboratively work with an international consultant; Undertaking other related tasks as directed by the FSC. QUALIFICATION Master's Degree (MA or LLM) in Human Rights, Criminal Law, Criminal Justice, Criminology, International Law, and Transitional Justice or in a relevant field is required. A Ph.D. in any of the above areas or in a related field would be a distinct advantage. In all cases an undergraduate degree in law/ legal studies is a requirement. GENERAL PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILL The consultant shall have at least ten years of relevant professional experience in law, preferably in criminal proceedings; Previous experience working within or with the Ethiopian criminal justice environment would be a distinct asset; Experience in undertaking similar work, with testimonials, including recommendations and letters of acknowledgment for participation in similar assignments; The ability to render consulting services in the most professional, effective, and efficient manner, published on 25 Aug 2023.
