Tender Description:

The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified companies with the required expertise and experience to provide service in reference to a project that aims to address the UNECA Sub-Reginal-Office- Central Africa (SRO-CA) infrastructure requirements as well as the functional spaces of the office facility building to ensure optimal delivery of effective mission of the sub-regional office of UNECA at Yaoundé, Cameroon. The firm is expected to provide upgrading of the overall office space at SRO-CA with major renovation works on the existing building refered as (Block-A)' and demolishing the old building which is currently serving as a library, storage area and IT requirements and on its space build a brand new office facility that blends with the (Block-A) which is to be renovated refered as (Block-B). The brand new building (Block B) to be constructed and the existing building to be renovated (Block-A) will address SRO-CA’s overall office facility, meet appropriate and modern office facility standard with added office space and conference and cafeteria facility features that are designed to reflect a modern office space with a renovated and state-of-the-art building and compound appearance, enhanced audio visual, IT as well as security infrastructure, addressing the equitable access of the facility and use of energy-efficient features. The total space area combining (Block-A and Block-B) measures,approximately 4000 sq. meters. UNECA in close coordination with SRO-CA, SSS and ITUSS has developed a Statement of Work (SOW)/Terms of Reference (TOR) that outlines the requirements, methods and deliverables that is expected from the contracting firm services. Detailed design documents (drawings,specification & BOQ) for the envisaged building feature are already developed by an architectural consulting firm. Steamed contracting firm is expected to be qualified and experienced enough to implement this design. In order to achieve the envisaged quality of the overall construction upgrades, UNECA requires a firm with relevant experience in the area of major construction work including Building services such as installation of Electrical power distribution systems,photosolar panels, plumbing, Fire safety suppression & detection systems, security systems and IT and telephony infrastructure. In addition, UNECA intends to get a firm with an organizational set up having qualified & skilled personnel and experience in renovation and upgrading works on buildings meeting the international standards featured above and having total building space area equivalent to Block-A and Block-B combined. Interested firms will be invited to the tender by “RFP” at a later stage.
