Magneettikuvauslaite (3T MRI), Siun sote

Tender Summary

The Sansia Oy in Finland from Europe region has released this tender for The North Karelia Welfare Region is looking for a 3T MRI machine for Joensuu Central Hospital, Imaging Center/Radiology. Our hospital is located in Joensuu and serves the entire North Karelia region. Our imaging unit currently uses two Siemens Sola 1.5T MRI machines, which comprehensively image all patient groups from infants to elderly patients. Our operations also cover demanding patient groups, including those being imaged under anesthesia and implant patients. We image various anatomical areas extensively, but we currently do not perform MRI-guided procedures or research activities. In addition, in terms of sectional imaging equipment, we use three Siemens computed tomography machines and Siemens SPECT and PET systems at the Imaging Center. Our radiologists and other imaging specialists use Siemens' syngo.via workstation solution in their reporting work, which is widely used in all sectional imaging modalities, especially CT and MRI imaging, and where applicable also in SPECT and PET examinations. The new 3T MRI device to be purchased will be our hospital's first and only 3T level system. The device will initially be used in particular for imaging of the neuro-, musculoskeletal system (MSK), breast and prostate. The device is also intended to perform cardiac imaging, including targeted examinations for diagnosing ischemic changes, assessing coronary artery anatomy and imaging myocardial perfusion at rest and during exercise. Our goal is to expand the use of 3T examinations comprehensively in the future, which is why the versatile equipment and expandability of the device are very important to us. Considering the location of our hospital, we value the importance of reliable, quickly available and experienced care. In addition, training plays a key role, as several nurses participate in the imaging activities. We require that user training is available in Finnish. Finnish-language maintenance service is also considered important to avoid misunderstandings. The consistency and usability of the MRI system user interface is of key importance for the operations, training and technical maintenance of our unit. Our unit has limited human resources, and several users participate in the imaging activities, which is why the implementation and training of the new system must be as smooth and efficient as possible. The simultaneous use of several different user interfaces significantly increases the need for training, complicates the workflow and increases the risk of errors. In addition, separating personnel from clinical patient work for training is challenging, which emphasizes the importance of a clear, intuitive and as uniform as possible user interface. Correspondingly, a uniform user environment also facilitates IT maintenance, updates and support services, and improves the overall reliability of the system. Therefore, we consider it important, that the offered solution supports the smoothest possible implementation, efficient training and manageable maintenance, taking into account the unit's resources. Environmental responsibility is a key value in our operations. We require that the offered MRI system has been manufactured responsibly and its environmental impact is as minimal as possible. We also accept a factory-refurbished device if it meets the required technical and functional criteria. The procurement will be carried out within the budget allocated for the procurement. The procurement unit reserves the right to suspend the procurement procedure if the prices of the acceptable offers exceed the budget available for the procurement and the procurement cannot be carried out with the available funding. with tender notice no. 679003-2026 published on 07 Oct 2026.
