Procurement of sign language interpretations and translations for the Government

The Valtioneuvoston kanslia in Finland from Europe region has released this tender for The Prime Minister's Office (VNK) is one of 12 ministries. Its main task is to support the Prime Minister in leading the Government and coordinating the work of the Government and Parliament. The subject of the procurement is the procurement of Finnish and Finnish-Swedish sign language interpretation and translation services needed by the Government and its ministries. Interpretation and translation services are mainly needed from Finnish and/or Swedish to Finnish and Finnish-Swedish sign language, but to some extent also from Finnish and Finnish-Swedish sign language to Finnish. Sign language interpretation and translation services are needed especially for the needs of the Government Communications Department, which started operating in the Government Office on 1 July 2026. The Government Communications Department is responsible for the communications of the Government and its ministries and the coordination of central government communications. The Recommendation on the Use of Sign Languages ​​in Government Communications 2025 promotes the realization of the linguistic rights of sign language users. In addition to communication-related interpretation and translation services, the procurement also covers other sign language interpretation and translation needs of ministries (sub-areas 5-8), for which the Prime Minister's Office acts as the procurement ring leader and the procurement ring includes the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, and the Office of the Chancellor of Justice. Other interpretations from Finnish and Swedish into Finnish-Swedish Sign Language and from Finnish-Swedish Sign Language into Finnish and Swedish 7. A framework agreement will be established for each sub-area, in which the selected suppliers are ranked in order of priority. The estimated value of the procurement is approximately 100,000 euros/year for all languages ​​combined.A two-year (24-month) framework agreement will be concluded with the selected suppliers, including two one (1) year options.
