Request for participation: Malmis new hospital, family center and health and well-being center, procurement of a building services contractor

The City of Helsinki, Urban Environment Division in Finland from Europe region has released this tender for The subject of the procurement is the acquisition of a building services contractor for the implementation of the building services complex of the new Malmi hospital, family center and health and well-being center as part of the projects alliance organization. The building services contractor will work in collaboration with other project parties and will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of the projects building services solutions in both the development and implementation phases. The new building will be built next to the current Malmi hospital (Talvelantie 6), and is intended to be completed in stages by 2035. The new Malmi hospital is a rehabilitation-promoting hospital, where patients in particular need of acute geriatric and surgical follow-up care are treated. There will be approximately 200 new hospital beds. Possible future expansion capacity will also be taken into account in the hospital area. A therapy center that promotes versatile rehabilitation is planned in connection with the hospital, where rehabilitation robotics will be focused, among other things. Technology will also be utilized in the further rehabilitation of patients who have already been discharged. Construction and implementation of building services works will take place in phases. The current hospital, including HUSs emergency department and laboratories, will continue to operate normally throughout the construction period. The Malmi health centre will also continue to operate until the new replacement facilities are completed. The facilities of the family centre and the health and wellbeing centre will be located in the same building as the new hospital. The total scope of the project estimated in the needs decision is approximately 77,000 brm². The estimated scope of the building services works is approximately 52,000,000 euros in total. A single alliance agreement will be drawn up for the project and the different phases of the project will be implemented with separate phase-specific orders.
