The Landessportverband für das Saarland KdöR in Germany from Europe region has released this tender for The listed arched hall was built between 1950 and 1955 as part of the new buildings for the State Sports School. The complex comprises three sections: the sports hall, known as the arched hall due to its distinctive arched segments; the gymnastics hall; and the entrance building with changing rooms. In 1977, the gymnastics hall was extended with a simple steel-framed addition. In 1980, a foam pit was added to the gymnastics hall, preserving the historical materials of reinforced concrete and sandstone facade. In 1989, another steel-framed hall was added to the entrance building to serve as a shooting range. This hall provides a practice area for marksmen. Apart from these additions, the arched hall complex remains largely unchanged in its original condition and is a listed building. The building services (changing rooms, showers, heating, ventilation) are dilapidated and urgently require replacement. A preliminary study has identified measures to ensure compliance with current energy consumption standards for heating. In addition to the energy-efficient renovation of the building complex's exterior, the sanitary facilities require a complete overhaul and must be brought up to current standards. The outdoor areas are not included in the planned project, with the exception of the access area with the stairs and ramps leading to the reception building. Here, concrete repairs to the stairs are particularly necessary, provided this is economically feasible and the structural requirements have been verified. A permit under historic preservation law must be obtained in any case. The shooting range is not included in the planned project. The renovation is being funded by the Saarland state government.
