The Klassik Stiftung Weimar, a public foundation in Germany from Europe region has released this tender for General: A wrought-iron railing, dating from the late 19th century, is located at the top of the Ilm embankment east of the City Palace. It consists of rectangular posts, top and bottom rails, and curved and circular infill panels. The posts are mounted on travertine bases/foundations. The railing is to be dismantled on site, refurbished in the contractors workshop, and reinstalled at the top of the embankment. Several railing sections are missing and must be replaced. The travertine bases/foundations are to be preserved wherever possible. Bases/foundations that cannot be preserved will be newly constructed. The travertine base, including the recess, will be fabricated separately by a stonemason and provided to this contractor by the client. The underlying concrete foundation is to be constructed as part of this contract. Experience in the restoration and repair of historic metalwork and wrought ironwork is required. References for the restoration of listed buildings must be submitted with the bid. Approximate quantities: 1 pc.
