81318558 - Multimedia communication support and web care for bilateral climate and energy partnerships The current global challenges of climate change and multiple of geopolitical conflicts require decarbonization and diversification of energy supply A key instrument for the exchange of energy and climate at global energy actors is the climate and energy partnerships KEP of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy BMWE The German Society for International Cooperation GIZ GmbH advises the BMWE on the political dialogue with developing and emerging countries So far the participation of gained experiences from the German energy transition and the provision of advisory and support services in the partner or target countries focus on the partnerships The global framework has changed significantly since the Russian attack on Ukraine at the latest That is why Germany has gained in importance in Germany In addition more than ever are required that have an even clearer win-win effect for both partners In this way they can contribute to the achievement of decarbonization goals in Germany and to increase competitiveness and resilience of the global German economy and thus to strengthen Germany Three central columns shape the cooperation with the partner countries as part of the KEP 1 Decarbonization The KEP support the global energy transition and contribute to the global decarbonization and climate protection 2 Climate and energy outdoor industry The KEP improve business opportunities for companies from Germany and partner countries and promote energy-relevant projects 3 Energy supply security The KEP strengthens supply security with decarbonized energy sources in the partner countries and in Germany and promote the emergence of new low -emission supply chains On the basis of jointly formulated interests the BMWE is currently cooperating with 34 partner countries including 5 countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia 17 threshold and developing countries as well as 12 industrialized countries The agreements underlying the KEP include cooperation in the areas of renewable energies and energy efficiency increasingly with a special focus on cooperation in the field of hydrogen as well as digitization or protection of critical infrastructures The GIZ supports the BMWE in the implementation and conceptual development of the partnerships in 17 developing and emerging countries the KEP with Algeria Brazil Chile Chile China India Morocco Mexico South Africa Tunisia Ukraine Uruguay and Vietnam hydrogen partnerships with Egypt and Namibia climate and energy dialogues and Argenti Thailand and the project -based energy cooperation with Ethiopia For this purpose the GIZ-pre-on-site presences in all countries mentioned or builds it up in close coordination with the BMWE and in Eschborn Bonn and Berlin
