The local authority has therefore applied for funding for a comprehensive gigabit rollout under the viability gap funding model, in accordance with the directive "Funding to support the gigabit rollout of telecommunications networks in the Federal Republic of Germany - Federal Gigabit Directive 2.0 (Gigabit Directive 2.0)" of March 31, 2023, as amended on April 30, 2024 ("Gigabit Directive 2.0"), and has received notification of the final grant amount. The funding provided in this funding program under the viability gap model (hereinafter referred to as: funds) is to be passed on by local authorities to telecommunications companies in the sense of EU state aid law as investment cost aid for the construction and operation of gigabit networks.
