Bau - vob - lv6 facade construction work - school ghs Construction description The existing school complex is located at Wilhelm-Peters-Stra e 76 68219 Mannheim Both pedestrian access and vehicle access are via Wilhelm-Peters-Stra e The cafeteria to be expanded or converted with an integrated warm-up kitchen is located on the ground floor of the E building and therefore in the northern area of the comprehensive school complex The three-story building is located between the parking lot and the main school building A single-story extension is intended to enlarge the cafeteria in the future and provide sufficient space for the increased number of students The extension will be connected to the western facade of the existing building and protrudes westward into the schoolyard The front edge of the new building takes up the line of the existing gymnasium and continues it to the west The original main entrance to the building is on the western side of the facade slightly set back in the middle of the building The building will continue to be accessible from the schoolyard side in the future However for reasons of internal orientation and better connection to the dining room the new main entrance will be positioned in the northern area of the west facade There are two further entrances on the side facing away from the schoolyard along the east facade A door leads directly into the stairwell which connects the ground floor with the two floors above This access also serves as the first escape and rescue route for the upper floors Another door on this side leads into the kitchen area and also functions as a delivery area for the caterer In order to accommodate the continuous increase in the number of students the existing cafeteria is to be expanded with a single-story extension The new dining room will accommodate up to 146 children In addition events with free seating for up to 199 people are possible As the number of students grows the demands on sanitary facilities and the kitchen also increase For this reason in addition to the extension extensive renovation work is planned on the ground floor of the existing building in order to meet the increased functional and operational requirements A single-storey solid building with a green flat roof and a ventilated facade is planned The necessary renovation work will take place on the ground floor of the existing building The upper floors will remain usable by the school during the construction phase These are accessed via a separate staircase which is accessed from the east facade The connected ground floor measures 32 m 30 m on its longest sides and has a gross floor area of around 800 m The main building dimensions are 31 m x 18 m x 13 5 m for the existing building and 31 m x 14 m x 5 m L x W x H for the single-storey extension
