Continuation of the in-depth measurement program Lower Saxony Way in 2027 with option for 2028 Organic Trace Analysis

The Lower Saxony State Agency for Water Management Coastal Protection and Nature Conservation NLWKN - Hanover-Hildesheim Branch in Germany from Europe region has released this tender for As part of the so-called Lower Saxony Way the NLWKN Lower Saxony Water Management Coastal Protection and Nature Conservation Agency is conducting pollutant analyses in surface waters throughout Lower Saxony on behalf of the Lower Saxony Ministry for the Environment Energy and Climate Protection This aims to assess the effectiveness of riparian buffer strips particularly regarding the input of pesticides into surface waters according to Section 58 of the Lower Saxony Water Act This will be done with a special focus on second- and third-order watercourses as well as on the exceptional case of agricultural landscapes with a high density of water bodies For this purpose water samples from a total of 26 surface water monitoring stations will be analyzed monthly throughout 2027 for up to 162 specific compounds primarily pesticides metabolites and wastewater indicators in the total water phase Subject to the pending approval of budget funds for 2028 the aforementioned analyses will also be carried out in 2028 with the same number of samples and in the same manner Unless the necessary budget funds are approved or made available no contract can be awarded for 2028 Notification as to whether the option for testing in 2028 will be exercised is expected by October 31 2027 Sampling will be carried out by the respective NLWKN Lower Saxony Water Management Coastal Protection and Nature Conservation Agency offices The contractor is responsible for organizing and including in the price the transport shipping of the samples to the contractor s laboratory The client reserves the right to adjust the scope of the analytes to be tested according to the available budget funds i e selection between analysis packages A - C See also sections 1 6 and 1 9 of this service description Further details regarding the nature and scope of the contract can be found in the service description Technical Section Part B including the appendix with tender notice no. 666379-2026 published on 07 Oct 2026.
