The Mittelahr sewage works Altenahr municipality in Germany from Europe region had released this tender for Engineering services for hydraulic renovation and road drainage through the town of mayschuss 1 Hydraulic rehabilitation of sewers In July 2021 the Ahr Valley was hit by the devastating flood disaster As a result the canal system in the local community of Mayscho was damaged This tender concerns parts of the combined sewer in Ahr-Rotweinstrasse B267 Bungertstrasse and Waagstrasse To determine the hydrodynamic performance of the existing sewer network the engineering firm S Kampf was commissioned to create and calculate a Sewer network model commissioned This has shown that the canal system is partly in poor hydraulic condition and requires a high level of hydraulic renovation see IBSK report in Annex 6 2 Different scenarios were considered in the calculations for hydraulic renovation For the renovation measures the wastewater works decided to use the scenario viewed without an external area This results in 29 sections of the sewer network There is a need for hydraulic renovation due to dimensional expansion see IBSK report appendix 6 2 report table 8 p 36 note the sections 4999901005 and 4999010010 last two lines belong to the Auelsbach stream piping and are not part of this tender Of these 23 are located on Ahr-Rotweinstrasse B267 five on Waagstrasse and one on Bungertstrasse The dimension extensions vary between DN400 and DN900 The section of the sewer to be renewed along the Ahr-Rotweinstrasse B267 runs from Lochm hle to Waagplatz and is approx 900m long The sections to be renewed in Bungertstrasse and Waagstrasse have a total length of approx 100m There is an overview map in Appendix 6 1 Approximately 45 connection lines that are classified as condition class 2 or worse are also to be rebuilt The approximately 30 street entrances contained herein are to be added in the future be connected to the newly built road drainage canal see 1 2 2 The remaining house connection lines must be partially replaced In addition there are approximately 30 Renew shaft structures DN1000 to DN1500 see IBSK report appendix 6 2 Plants 19 20 The wastewater from Mayscho flows as mixed water in the gravity drain to a storm overflow basin R B and is then throttled further to the temporary mobile Mayscho sewage treatment plant Due to the hydraulic expansion the inflow volumes to the R B increase Therefore the quantities discharged into the Ahr which are deducted at the R B must be recalculated The new discharge quantities must be re-applied for to the upper water authority SGD Nord as part of a water permit According to the current state of knowledge the R B itself does not need to be converted and is therefore not part of this tender as part of the hydraulic expansion of the sewers Since the work is taking place near the Ahr a water permit is required There are a number of existing pipes in the section to be planned and new local heating pipes are also planned A rough sketch of the street cross-section divided up for various suppliers and waste disposal companies has already been created by the Monreal engineering firm the new street drainage channel to be planned see 1 2 2 has not yet been shown see Appendix 6 5 This sketch represents a possible variant as of January 2025 and does not correspond to any implementation planning 2 Street drainage Since the road planning and a corresponding expansion of the roadway and sidewalks along the Ahr-Rotweinstrasse B267 in Mayscho can only be tackled later relevant drainage issues must be addressed now as part of further civil engineering work by other parties involved such as the Mittelahr sewage works Therefore the drainage of the B267 should be redesigned for the Lochm hle area up to the rain overflow at Waagplatz see also overview map appendix 6 1 including Main street drainage pipe street gullies with supply lines Sedimentation plants and discharge points The area is approximately 900 m long new discharge points require preliminary water law consultation with SGD Nord and the Ahrweiler district administration required as well as later approval planning Furthermore Land acquisition could become necessary for the new discharge points This may need to be coordinated with the LBM Since the work is taking place near the Ahr a water permit is required 3 Specialist planning and consulting services as well as special services Details can be found in the service description with tender notice no. 0022a VgV-VGA-Abwasserwerk published on 23 Oct 2025.
