Extension and conversion of Bernhardswald primary school for all-day care - Scope of services: Technical equipment, plant groups 4, 5, 6 and 7

The Gemeinde Bernhardswald in Germany from Europe region has released this tender for The municipality of Bernhardswald is planning an extension to the Bernhardswald primary school to provide all-day care for primary school students. A feasibility study examined and evaluated several locations for the extension. The approved preliminary design for the cooperative all-day program, in the form of an extension, envisions adding the dining hall, kitchen, cloakroom, and accessible restroom to the existing hallway in the northeast of the school building. The existing break room will also be enlarged. Since the school building is a split-level structure, the installation of an elevator will be facilitated by relocating a stair landing. Furthermore, existing rooms for the after-school care program and the lunchtime supervision program in the primary school's basement will be incorporated into the space plan for the cooperative all-day program. To provide the necessary spaces for all-day care and lunch for up to 160 students, the following new construction and renovations are planned for the existing school building: A 305 m² common area for all-day care, including a reading corner, a homework and music area; a 55 m² catering kitchen with ancillary rooms; and a 120 m² dining hall operating in two shifts. In addition, the existing break hall will be enlarged by 89 m², and the schoolyard will be restored to its original size of 808 m² after the renovation. The project costs are currently estimated at approximately €5.85 million (gross). This budget is to be adhered to. Key planned milestones: • Submission of funding application and building permit application in June/July 2027 • Tendering and award of contract in September/October 2027 • Start of construction in March 2028 • Completion no later than the start of the 2030/2031 school year. The services for the technical equipment (plant groups 4, 5, 6, and 7) will be awarded in stages. Contracts for service phases 2–9 will be awarded in stages. Initially, only service phases 2 and 3 will be awarded, followed by optional, staged awards for the remaining service phases. There is no entitlement to the award of further service phases/stages. Bidders cannot derive any claim to additional fees from the staged awarding of contracts. Requests for further stages must be made in writing. Regular school operations must be maintained during the construction work.
