Framework agreement for freelance biological and landscape conservation services as part of investments and maintenance measures on the kiel canal The Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration represented by a The North-Baltic Sea Canal Waterways Construction Authority WNA NOK is planning in addition to several larger investment projects such as the expansion of the eastern section of the NOK the new construction of the Levensau high bridge or the renewal of the small locks in Kiel-Holtenau further measures for example the renewal of the quay wall in Kiel-Holtenau b the Kiel Canal Waterways and Shipping Authority WSA NOK is planning various maintenance measures in the next few years to maintain the operation of the Kiel Canal These include the following services 01 Accompanying and monitoring the construction process with regard to environmental aspects in particular nature and species protection to ensure that construction is carried out in accordance with approval and environmental law e g environmental construction support 02 Preparation of species protection statements FFH preliminary assessments environmental impact assessments UV-VP 03 Processing of intervention determination with compensation planning 04 Examination of the impact on protected parts of nature and landscape including biotope protection and if necessary drawing up a statement and or applying for exemption from the bans 05 Technical assessment and preparation of reports on water law issues noise and soil protection 06 Technical support and assistance in plan change procedures 07 Inventory control of for example trees and buildings for the presence of bats birds and other relevant species and if necessary development of proposed solutions such as felling or demolition periods preparation of tree felling applications 08 Technical support and additional work for the potential analysis of WSV s own areas e g flushing areas or third-party areas offered for their compensation value and any potential for upgrading and maintenance 09 Inventory surveys or assessments flora 10 Population surveys or assessments fauna breeding and resting birds amphibians reptiles bats 11 Recording invasive species and developing proposed solutions for dealing with them 12 Local construction supervision for smaller environmentally-related projects e g compensatory or replacement measures The services described are necessary as part of investments and transport maintenance measures that have not yet been precisely determined at this point in time Since neither the situation nor the type of project can be described the award form of a framework contract is chosen and the various possible services are described
