Conversely, the client must assert a price reduction against the contractor two months before the end of the binding period. After the initial contract term expires and an application has been submitted, the prices for the remaining contract term will be recalculated based on the aforementioned price indices. Only price increases/decreases exceeding five percent will be recognized. The client may terminate the contract after the initial contract term expires. If the City of Essen does not terminate the contract at least three months before the respective contract end date, the contract will automatically renew for another two years. Should the total contract value for the maximum term of four years be exhausted earlier, the contract will terminate at the time of full utilization.
