Tender Summary
The Hamburger Wasserwerke GmbH in Germany from Europe region has released this tender for Hamburg Water intends to procure a complete automated bottle preparation system for its drinking water laboratory. This system will relieve Hamburg Water's drinking water laboratory staff of a tedious, repetitive, and physically demanding task. This will free up time for employees to dedicate to more valuable work. The bottles used are plastic bottles for filling water samples for analysis of parameters required for operational and regulatory quality monitoring of various water types within the broader context of drinking water production and distribution. Sampling and analysis are carried out in accordance with relevant technical standards. Currently, 100 ml LDPE plastic bottles with screw caps and wide-mouth openings are used, manufactured by Kautex. For sample preservation, 1.2 ml of approximately 32% nitric acid, 1.2 ml of 25% sulfuric acid, or 1.2 ml of 1 mol/l sodium hydroxide solution are manually added to the bottles according to standard procedures, depending on the intended analysis, using dosing devices. The chemicals are of high purity for analytical purposes, e.g., "pa" or "zA". The bottles are manually sealed leak-proof using a simple twisting mechanism and the corresponding screw cap. The screw caps have small, raised ridges for improved grip. Staff prepare approximately 80 bottles in this way in a single run. The container with the prepared bottles is placed directly from the preparation system into the designated shelf of the bottle storage area without having to repack the prepared bottles. The container must therefore fit into the existing shelf (dimensions: 56 x 56 cm). The bottles are color-coded for different uses: white and brown, green, and yellow. The bottles are permanently labeled with text and hazard symbols in accordance with the Hazardous Substances Ordinance. The system is designed to automate the preparation of the bottles. Bottles, caps, and chemicals can be provided in larger quantities by a single employee. The employee is presented with pre-configured preparation programs on a display or PC, which they can easily select ("one-click"). The necessary work programs can be easily and intuitively adjusted or newly configured by the employee as needed. Once the selected program is started, the system automatically and reliably dispenses the chemicals into the bottles and seals them leak-proof with the cap, making them ready for collection by the employee. Caps and bottles are fed into the automated preparation system separately. Reason:The bottles are reused and, for this purpose, are cleaned separately in a dishwasher before bottle preparation. Thus, after cleaning, the caps and bottles are kept separate. Our existing plastic bottles and caps, as well as our chemicals, are to be used. Preparation must be carried out safely, cleanly, and without contamination. Batch quantities of approximately 50-80 bottles are to be processed. A suitable location would be a fume hood with substructures and the following dimensions: footprint of 113 x 67 x 90 cm (W x D x H) plus two substructures, each measuring 53 x 40 x 58 cm (W x D x H). The fume hood ensures the safe handling of the required hazardous materials. The screw cap must be sealed leak-proof by setting a specific, selectable torque. To increase workplace safety, the bottles must be handled and stored in an upright position after the chemicals have been dispensed. Leaks are detected by sensors, signaled to employees in a clearly perceptible, yet unobtrusive, manner, and the system is stopped. The system reacts to unusual mechanical resistance, signaling it in a clearly perceptible yet unobtrusive manner and stopping. Other potential system malfunctions are handled in the same way. The completion of a preparation program is signaled in a perceptible yet unobtrusive manner. The executed process is documented for quality management purposes (e.g., date, time, name of the preparation program, volume of added chemical, name and concentration of added chemical, number of prepared bottles, description of events such as running out of water and refilling chemicals). Regular on-site maintenance. Short-response service; technicians will be on-site within 4 days. Please submit a price list/price indication and further product information by November 30, 2026, 12:00 PM, via email to ausschreibungen@hamburgwasser.de.Leaks are detected via sensors, signaled to employees in a clearly perceptible yet unobtrusive manner, and the system is stopped.
