On-demand public transport in service area 1 “Nördlingen”

The Donau-Ries district in Germany from Europe region has released this tender for Prior publication pursuant to Article 7(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007 in conjunction with Section 8a(2) of the German Passenger Transport Act (PBefG) for the conduct of a Europe-wide procedure. The Donau-Ries district intends to tender the on-demand transport services "Nördlingen" (scheduled service pursuant to Section 44 PBefG) throughout Europe from May 1, 2028, to December 31, 2034, with a unilateral extension option for the Donau-Ries district of up to two years until December 31, 2036, at the latest. The competent authority reserves the right to tender this transport service together with other transport services or service areas in a single procedure and to divide the tender into lots. Service area of ​​the "Nördlingen" on-demand transport service: The service area covers the city of Nördlingen and the following municipalities with their respective districts: Alerheim, Amerdingen, Deiningen, Ederheim, Forheim, Hohenaltheim, Mönchsdeggingen, Möttingen, Reimlingen, Wallerstein, and Wechingen. The establishment of connection points to other service areas is possible. According to current regulations, the Donau-Ries district will join the Augsburg Transport and Tariff Association (AVV) on January 1, 2027. The requirements outlined in the currently valid local public transport plan (local public transport plan adopted on May 13, 2015, and subsequently updated several times) of the Donau-Ries district (in particular, quality standards and service times) are currently being revised. This includes, in particular, compliance with the currently valid fare and transport regulations of the AVV (Aachener Verkehrsverbund, the Aachen Transport Association). The operating hours for the Nördlingen service area amount to approximately 11,600 hours per year. Since this is a demand-responsive transport service, the service volume can only be estimated based on the current similar service, which amounts to approximately 11,600 operating hours per year. The frequency of service during these operating hours will depend on passenger bookings.
