Provision and the operation of kubernetes clusters for a test environment in the construct-x project A more detailed describing can be found in the procurement documents The subject of this tender is a framework contract with access quotas for the provision and configuration of Kubernetes clusters to implement a tractus-x-based test and demonstration environment The clusters are intended to serve as the basis for federated services as well as for ECLIPSE DATASPACE Connectors EDC and corresponding applications and ensure high availability scalability and security Scope of services The advertised service includes in particular Provision of production tires Kubernetes clusters preferred based on open source technologies as a replacement for the existing Azure Kubernetes Service AKS environment Establishment of at least 5 logically separate Kubernetes instances e g via separate namespaces or cluster with the option for further scaling each with 3 nodes for high availability whether cluster or namespace must then be used In the course of the project it can optionally be expanded to a total of 18 clusters See separately provided price sheet in the tender documents The scaling of the individual instances takes place in units of 3 nodes with 4 CPUs and 16 GEF RAM 512 GB plate storage resources are expanded or reduced as required in the course of the project Establishment of operating and security mechanisms monitoring logging RBAC network policies DNS and a corresponding management of the clusters A corresponding documentation for the operation and the security concept Optional Support with the transfer of approximately 5 existing Kubernetes clusters for Tractus-X services that are currently operated on the Azure clusters of the Construct-X environment container configurations data in databases Taking into account the existing data in the clusters as well as the vaults service Optional Support for CI CD integration with version control and backup strategies DevOps pipelines i e supporting the automated process of development test boild deployment operation with the corresponding container orchestration The administration is preferred using Gardener Technical requirements From a technical point of view the following properties or functions must be supported Use of upstream Kubernetes without manufacturer-specific extensions or at least one compatible managed Kubernetes service container registry and DNS zone management Resource management of Kubernetes clusters the various Kubbernets services registration etc User and right-wing management poilcies Integration into existing monitoring logging infrastructure e g Prometheus Grafana Loki Container Insights We intend to use for the management of our Kubernetes cluster Gardener Accordingly the deployment and administration by Gardeners should be possible Provision of key vaults Availability We assume that the clusters are available 24x7 without interruption Availability of 99 must be guaranteed In the event of a failure of a cluster during the working days Monday-Friday a response time must be observed after the notification of 120 minutes
