Tender Summary
The Ludwigshafen am Rhein Municipal Hospital gGmbH in Germany from Europe region has released this tender for The Department of Nuclear Medicine and Theranostics has commenced operations with the goal of establishing and permanently developing the field of nuclear medicine at the Ludwigshafen Hospital. This includes the radiochemical, quality assurance, and dosimetric infrastructure for diagnostic and, in particular, therapeutic purposes in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This procurement project encompasses not only conceptual planning but also an integrated and future-proof infrastructure for theranostic and individualized therapy and outpatient concepts, implemented in two phases and in compliance with the requirements of Section 13 of the German Medicines Act (AMG). The first phase involves creating the infrastructural and technical prerequisites for aseptic preparation under laminar flow conditions and for quality assurance of the therapeutically used, commercially available radiopharmaceuticals. Even at this early stage, a particular focus is placed on the integration of quality assurance measures and processes. Quality assurance is implemented from the outset as a central component of the workflow to guarantee the safety, traceability, reproducibility, and regulatory compliance of all steps and to enable the flexible use of commercially available radiopharmaceuticals in routine clinical practice. Furthermore, this expansion phase lays the foundation for SPECT/CT-based determination of therapeutic activity with gamma and beta emitters, as well as dosimetric evaluations within the framework of individualized therapies. In the second—optional—expansion phase of the radionuclide laboratory, it will be expanded into a GMP-like infrastructure that is technically and structurally fully compatible with the prerequisites already established in the first expansion phase. The goal is to establish quality-assured processes for the aseptic in-house production and release of radiopharmaceuticals and to expand the therapeutic spectrum through alpha therapies and GMP-compliant individualized treatment concepts. For this purpose, the provision of an isolator with pre-chambers and a synthesis module, as well as an H₂O₂ generator for aseptic production and filling in routine clinical operation, is planned. The expansion strengthens quality assurance, increases therapeutic flexibility, and enables long-term patient care at the site beyond treatment concepts using commercially available radiopharmaceuticals. The client reserves the right not to commission the second expansion phase following the first, or to commission it only partially. The contractor has no right to be commissioned for this second phase. Further services included in the contract are the planning and design of both expansion phases, as well as service and maintenance for a period of eight years from the commissioning of the equipment.Construction services are not part of the contract. with tender notice no. 714488-2026 published on 15 Oct 2026.
