The subject of this tender is the complete renewal of the elevator system at the Viehofer Platz light rail station in Essen. The existing hydraulically operated elevator system is to be replaced by an electrically operated cable elevator. The existing shaft structures, enclosures, and supporting structures are to be retained as far as possible; no enlargement of the existing pit or shaft head is planned. Utilizing the existing shaft dimensions, the largest technically feasible car size is to be provided. The existing door fronts at the entrances are to be completely renewed. The scope of services includes the planning, technical processing, supply, dismantling, disposal, installation, commissioning, and acceptance of the complete elevator system, including the car, drive, control system, doors, lighting, safety devices, emergency call and communication technology, as well as the necessary interfaces to the existing infrastructure and network control system. The existing elevator system is out of service. The scope of work includes the dismantling and proper disposal of the old system, including the hydraulic cylinder and existing elevator enclosure, as well as the necessary disposal documentation. Before commencing work, the contractor must conduct an inventory and dimensional check and demonstrate the technical feasibility of the conversion, taking into account the existing structural conditions. The key technical specifications of the new elevator are: load capacity 1,000 kg, rated speed 1.0 m/s, travel height approx. 6.585 m, 2 stops and 2 entrances, clear door dimensions 900 x 2,100 mm. The existing hoistway has dimensions of approx. 2,100 x 2,750 mm; the existing clear pit depth is approx. 1,305 mm and the clear headroom is approx. 3,650 mm. The scope of services also includes all necessary workshop, assembly, execution, and inventory documentation, technical certificates, permits, tests, and acceptances, in particular the prescribed safety inspections, the inspection according to DGUV Regulation 3, and the acceptance according to Section 5 BOStrab, where required. Complete system documentation, including test and acceptance documents, must be provided. Furthermore, the conclusion of a maintenance contract for the inspection and maintenance, including troubleshooting and other services for the elevator systems, is part of the tender. The maintenance contract for this purpose is attached to the tender documents and must be fully completed and legally signed by the bidders and submitted with their bid.The work is scheduled to be carried out between December 2026 and the end of July 2027 at the latest.
