Revitalization of the historic cultural site "Casino", city of Melsungen

The Magistrat der Stadt Melsungen in Germany from Europe region has released this tender for The construction project is located in the city center of Melsungen, at the corner of Rotenburger Str. 10 and Obere Mauergasse. The "Old Casino," built in 1838, has two stories plus an attic and was structurally altered in the 1970s. The now-listed section of the building, dating from the mid-19th century, was extended at that time with an addition that, from todays perspective, is not structurally worth preserving. This addition housed a foyer, stage equipment, and a hall. An additional storage area for chairs was added in 2000. The ground floor of the existing building is approximately 1.30 meters above street level. The entire existing structure has a basement. The 1970s addition will be demolished and replaced with a new, basement-level extension containing a foyer and restaurant. The basement will be constructed of waterproof concrete, the main structure of the extension will be a steel frame, and the roof will be a prefabricated timber ceiling system.
