The German Aerospace Center DLR in Germany from Europe region had released this tender for Service provider for data center interconnect The client German Aerospace Center DLR currently operates data center services in two locally separate data centers in Frankfurt am Main which are supplied via external infrastructure The two data centers are approximately 10 km apart as the crow flies and are operated by different providers DWDM services are currently provided via Dark Fiber but these cannot be used further as they are not exclusively available to DLR The service provider operates the existing solution with active DWDM components and certified SFP modules In the future an exclusive managed DWDM service will be implemented between the two locations which must be put into operation by June 1 2026 at the latest The contractor is responsible for the provision operation and management of all required hardware and software components as well as the cables including the dark fiber which must be constructed at nodes and edge-disjoint The DLR provides the necessary resources such as power cooling and rack units while the contractor installs and operates the technical infrastructure in the DLR data center area The solution must ensure high availability and redundancy so that servers networks storage systems and application services e g database clusters can be connected redundantly via the dark fiber The route and cable length must be dimensioned so that standard SFP modules can be used especially taking into account the maximum permissible attenuation The failure of individual components or lines must not result in a total failure of the service The offer must contain a comprehensive operating concept that serves as the basis for the operations manual change and incident management Please note that the service description contains additional documents that are classified as confidential A non-disclosure agreement NDA must be signed by bidders before access After submitting the legally binding signed NDA the bidders receive the necessary documents The Confidentiality Agreement form must be filled out and submitted via the communication function of the subreport ELViS platform Once the signed agreement has been received the full service description will also be made available via the platform with tender notice no.
