The 0: ÜSTRA Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe Aktiengesellschaft in Germany from Europe region has released this tender for The "C-Roads" project (CRG-3) aims to test a replacement for the analog radio-based public transport acceleration system for buses. Unlike its predecessor, "LOGIN" (Optimally Controlled Traffic Signal Systems in Local Public Transport), which, with the participation of various research partners, achieved a proof of concept for C-ITS-based public transport acceleration, C-Roads relies on market-ready hardware. Furthermore, integration into the existing ITCS/operational control system of IVU Traffic Technologies AG (IVU) is planned, for example, for visualizing switching time forecasts. ÜSTRA applied for funding from the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), which was approved by a grant notification dated October 16, 2024. Partial funding was granted. ÜSTRA intends to utilize the funding and therefore expects the tendered services to be completed on schedule. The subject of this tender is the delivery and fully functional provision of a vehicle-based C-ITS-based public transport acceleration system, encompassing all services for an integrated system. This includes, among other things, the delivery and installation of C-ITS OBUs, antennas, and the integration between these components, up to and including the interface with the ITCS on-board computer. The system to be offered is to be implemented as a permanently functioning, complete system within 15 months of order placement and invoiced verifiably. The use of a C-ITS-based public transport acceleration system is intended to implement a future-proof and standardized system that can be expanded flexibly and independently of the manufacturer.
