Testing an early warning system to identify the amphibian pathogens bsal and bd in saxony-anhalt the project area intended for the investigations extends across four regions of the state of saxony-anhalt see fig 1-fig 5 harz south harz zeitz forest flechtinger ridge northwestern altmark Excerpt 2 2 Investigation methodology documentation and data storage 2 2 1 Sampling - Excerpt Sampling at a total of 140 sampling locations should take place staggered in 2026 and 2027 2026 50 sampling sites 2 samplings each 2027 90 sampling sites 2 samplings each A unique ID must be used to designate the sample locations which must be agreed with the client before the examinations begin It is the contractor s responsibility to select the sample sites relevant for the respective year from the specified sample site pool The sampling sites see Chapter 2 1 were selected in advance based on the presence of relevant rivers smaller streams and the target species fire salamander If sampling sites cannot be sampled as a result of the water drying out the contractor is responsible for selecting and sampling suitable replacement locations in the spatial context The sampling itself should take place in the area of the specified locations although these should not be interpreted as a precise specification but rather as a rough location that can be sensibly adjusted on site according to the habitat conditions The specified location plus a 200 m buffer applies as a guideline Each sampling location must be located using GPS and assigned to the respective sampling site ID Sampling should be carried out twice at each location in the respective collection year For this purpose a sampling must be carried out between mid-March and mid-April and a second sampling between the end of April and mid-May of the same year There should be a period of at least 4 weeks between sampling dates A total of 280 individual samples are to be taken in the project in both years 2 samples at 140 locations For each sampling a water sample with a volume of at least 1 000 ml must be taken If possible this volume should be sampled at 5 different points at the sampling location distance approx 20 - 30 m from each other approx 200 ml each whereby areas particularly preferred by the fire salamander such as slow-flowing scours in the stream bed etc should be included Further information on 2 2 1 Sampling 2 2 2 DNA extraction 2 2 3 DNA analysis 2 2 4 Verification of positive results for BSal 2 2 5 Validation of analysis methods 3 Reports 3 1 Interim report The following deadline applies to the interim report November 30 2026 3 2 Final report The following deadline applies to the final report November 30 2027 4 Other 5 Documents provided by the client 6 Literature 7 Attachments 8 Award criteria The contract will be awarded to the most economical offer The sole award criterion is the price Due to an insufficient number of characters available the service description cannot be reproduced here in its entirety Appendix 02_Service description and Appendix 02_a_Appendix 1 to the service description Zip file can be found in the tender documents provided
