Procurement of radiosonde and related equipment

The HungaroMet Hungarian Meteorological Service Provider Nonprofit Private Limited Company in Hungary from Europe region has released this tender for HungaroMet Nonprofit Zrt. uses “Vaisala AS41 AUTOSONDE” type ground equipment for radiosonde upper atmosphere measurements in Budapest and Szeged. These equipment are automatically operating, electromechanical devices using robotic technology. They are capable of: a. preparing and checking the radiosonde for measurement immediately prior to the measurement, b. filling the balloon that delivers the probe into the upper atmosphere with hydrogen gas, c. launching the radiosonde-balloon combination at the specified time, d. receiving and processing atmospheric data measured by the probe and transmitted in real time by its radio transmitter, e. producing the data in a format suitable for international meteorological data exchange and transmitting it using standard IT tools. The equipment can be pre-loaded with a quantity of equipment suitable for performing up to 60 upper atmosphere measurements (take-offs). Within the framework of this procurement, the successful bidder is responsible for delivering the following devices suitable for charging the above devices: 1. 1500 radiosondes, which: a. are compatible with Vaisala AS41 AUTOSONDE type ground equipment; b. are capable of measuring air temperature during flight, with an accuracy of at least 0.2 C; c. are capable of measuring air relative humidity during flight, with an accuracy of at least 3%; d. are capable of measuring air pressure during flight, with an accuracy of at least 0.4 hPa; e. are capable of measuring the wind direction with an accuracy of at least 2 degrees and its speed during flight, using GPS technology; f. are capable of transmitting within the 400 - 406 MHz radio frequency band, at a frequency chosen by the user, with a power of at least 60 mW. 2. 1500 600 gram balloons, which can carry the radiosonde to an altitude of at least 30 km; 3. 1500 pieces of balloon valves, which make the balloon suitable for automatic inflation. General requirements — 12 months full warranty for the equipment to be purchased, — Delivery of factory new products. The Contracting Authority notes that in accordance with Section 46 (3) and (5) of Government Decree 321/2015. (X. 30.), any reference to a specific make, origin, type of radiosonde, components or procedures in the technical specifications or in the public procurement documents shall be understood as “or equivalent”, and the Contracting Authority fully accepts the proof of equivalence in order to ensure effective competition. with tender notice no. 698967-2026 published on 09 Oct 2026.
