The UN Secretariat in Italy from Europe region had released this tender for The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) seeks a qualified contractor to establish a long-term contract (3 + 1 + 1 years) for the collection, transport and disposal of garbage and special and toxic waste services in its premises located in Brindisi, Italy. The requirement will consist of but not limited to the following activities: Collection, transportation and disposal of Garbage (undifferentiated/dry and humid/organic): - Characterization of garbage (undifferentiated/dry and humid/organic). ­ Cleaning and disinfection services of all bins. Collection, transportation and disposal of Special and Toxic Waste: - Characterization of waste (special and toxic waste). - Special waste including (and not limited to) solvents, paint, toner, adhesives, oils, packaging, absorbents, tires, discarded equipment, batteries, construction materials, glass, metals, and other waste. Collection, transportation destruction and disposal of Paper records: - Paper and carton, including certification of destruction and disposal at an authorized site; Collection, transportation destruction and disposal of special materials/items: - Helmets, ceramic plates, medals, UN vehicle license plates, anti-fragmentation jackets, military vests/items, including certification of destruction and disposal at an authorized site. The awarded contractor shall provide planning, workforce, equipment, vehicles, waste dumpsters, and tools to transport and unload all the materials necessary to complete the services. The awarded contractor shall be registered with the relevant professional qualification in the Italian Chamber of Commerce Business Registry with the registration to Albo Gestori Ambientali (National Waste Disposal Registry), or a foreign-based Contractor shall be registered with the pertinent authority in their country of origin, demonstrating authorization to transport waste of categories 1 (urban waste), 3bis (RAEE management), 4 (non-hazardous waste) and 5 (hazardous waste).
