Project description:
The Mediterranean Forum for Applied Ecosystem-Based Management (MED4EBM) project aims to enhance the capacities of various stakeholders and institutional actors involved in managing coastal and marine areas. In addition, the Project will help to establish a cooperation and coordination platform to implement Ecosystem-Based Integrated Coastal Zone Management (EB-ICZM) effectively. The MED4EBM Project will tackle this issue by assisting ICZM actors in four coastal areas of Jordan, Italy, Lebanon, and Tunisia. In this context, Tyre Coast Nature Reserve (TCNR), partner of Med4EBM project, is looking for GIS Expert.
Main responsibilities:
Following the biological data collected during the Project
Creation of maps related to data collected
Analyzing and reporting the data on a scientific way
Train TCNR team on GIS software (quantum/ Arc)
Coordinate and cooperate with the Project Manager of the project and TCNR
Participate in all the technical workshop related to the Project
Coordinate with the Integrated Coastal Zone Management of the Project in TCNR.
Collecting data from reports and articles and using them to create a GIS database for TCNR.
Work and create a mapping database for TCNR
Analyzing and interpreting the data related to Med4EBM.
Preparing Maps based on the need of TCNR
Creating TCNR shapefiles
Cartography of ecosystems and associated biodiversity in TCNR
Qualification and Skills
GIS expert (PhD is an added value)
Good knowledge on collecting data from articles and reports
Good biological knowledge
Already work with biological data
Already working on project and publishing reports/ articles.
